Safeguarding is about principles and practices put in place for preventing or responding to harm and abuse. It is designed to protect people who by reason of their disposition are not able to protect themselves or are positioned to be susceptible to abuse or harm. These are people with a protective characteristic which could be adults at risk or children and young people.
Providers of care and their staff must act in accordance with the Human Rights Act 1998 and have a positive obligation to uphold those rights for the people they support.
Our safeguarding courses are designed to meet QCF unit – HSC024 – Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Adult Social Care and CQC Outcome 7 – Safeguarding people who use services from abuse. Participants will learn the best practical approaches to safeguarding adults using the multi-agency protection procedures and enhance their skills in identification, prevention and referrals.
