Our Moving and Handling training is designed with emphasis on the proper use of good principles of movement, risk assessment and risk management. The participants are taught the need for effective communication with the people involved in order to minimise accidents or incidents. On completion of this training, people are well equipped to move and handle individuals properly.
Manual handling is one of the most common causes of injury at work and causes over a third of all workplace injuries which include work related Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) such as upper and lower limb pain/disorders, joint and repetitive strain injuries.
It is essential therefore that employer manage the risks to their employees not only does it make them compliant to CQC outcomes 13 and 14 which states that providers should ensuring that their staff are well supervised and trained, it also helps them to meet the requirements of health and safety executives.
